The Short Answer

From signed contract to first swim, most custom pool projects in North Texas take 12–20 weeks. The biggest variable is permitting — which takes 2–8 weeks depending on your city and HOA.

Week-by-Week Timeline

Weeks 1–2: Design & Contract

We develop your full 3D design, you approve it, select materials, and sign the contract. Typically done within 1–2 weeks of your initial consultation.

Weeks 3–6: Engineering, HOA & Permits

We prepare engineering documents, submit to your HOA, and file for city permits. In Plano, McKinney, and Allen this typically takes 3–6 weeks. We handle all of it for you.

Week 7: Excavation

Once permits are approved, we move fast. Layout and excavation typically takes 2–5 days.

Weeks 7–9: Steel & Gunite

Steel reinforcement is installed, inspected, and then the gunite shell is sprayed. Gunite needs 28 days to cure — this is non-negotiable for structural integrity.

Weeks 9–13: Plumbing, Electrical & Tile

While gunite cures, we run plumbing and electrical, install equipment, set coping, and complete tile and stone work.

Weeks 13–16: Decking & Outdoor Living

Concrete decking, pavers, artificial turf, pergola installation, and outdoor living elements are completed.

Weeks 16–20: Plaster, Fill & Final

Interior finish is applied, pool is filled, chemistry balanced, equipment commissioned, final inspections completed, and your walkthrough scheduled.
